Beards are a big part of this IPL, cricketers with beards have had iconic statuses in cricket; be it WG Grace’s thick beard or Mike Brearly’s dark mane. Over the years, many things have changed but the beards have stayed. Beards signify manliness they say; whether for religious reasons, comfort or fashion, it continues to have a place in the traditional game of cricket. While not all men who grow bristles get the attention, some go down as the limelight takers. Here are the some of our favourite modern day warriors of cricket – with beards
Bangalore captain Virat Kohli. The Indian captain is one of the most stylish cricketers of the modern era. Virat is not just a star on field, but also off it. When you think Virat Kohli, the first thing that strikes you is that amazingly well-kept mane of his. The way he keeps his beard accentuates his already sexy jawline. To top off this ripper of a bear is his goatee and the horseshoe moustache that is an international craze these days.
Dinesh Karthik’s beauty & looks are characterised by his short hair & casual hairstyle. A toned down version of the Kohli, Karthik wants to show off his dapper style, but frankly doesn’t look like he’s going to put in too much effort to maintain it. His semi-scruffy beard shows that he’s easy going but still has a flair for fashion (and finishing).
We have seen many people in their early 20’s having white hair and white beard due to various hormonal changes. Our MSD is still 34 y.o. in that way! He’s, by far, one of the most adventurous when it comes to his hair and beard — but not often the most successful. However, this time around, Dhoni keeps it simple with stubble — it’s a good holding beard until something better comes along.
